ART BY - MONGOLOLOH

George ‘Mongololoh’ Njuguna is the eldest and leader of the group. At the age of 9 when his family separated, he took his 2 month old brother under his care in the streets. Living on his own, Mongololoh was not able to continue primary school but for a short time did attend a school geared toward art where he learned the basics of painting. He is considered the patriarch of the Art Boyz, as he is the one who inspired and taught all of the others to paint as a form of expression. Mongololoh made a home for himself and his brother in Mukuru after 10+ years on the streets. His painting style reflects life in the slums. The name Mongololoh means precious, unique star.
